#ASUUStrike: FG and ASUU Meeting ends in a deadlock

The meeting between the Federal Government and ASUU ended in a deadlock.

The meeting which started by 3pm and ended by 8pm this evening.

The Minister of Labour  Chris Ngige, who was among the Federal Government negotiation team told reports that the Federal Government will still meet Striking lecturers next week.

The Minister who came late to the meeting due to minimum wage negotiation.

Chris Ngige begged ASUU to consider the students who are the ones suffering at the end of the day.

ASUU President told newsmen Biodun Ogunyemi, he and his Union members will meet with the Federal Government next week but no date has been announced.

According to him, there were plea by the Federal Government to end strike for the 2009 agreement fell on deaf ears.

“Our meeting with the education minister in May and September to remind him about federal government promises to implement the agreement yielded no result,” he said.
