Missing General In Jos: Military Finally Frees Pregnant Woman Arrested last Week

Nora Moses Gyang, the pregnant woman who was arrested by the military last week Thursday has been freed.

Nora Moses was arrested in her neighbourhood in Latya in Du district by the special military forces who raided the area in search of suspected killers of a retired senior military officer, Major General Idris Alkali.

Her release was facilitated and secured by a nongovernmental organization, who was concerned about her status as a pregnant woman.

Barrister Godferry Mathew told rhythm news that he signed an undertaking before securing her release and then handed her over to the District head of Du.

Heavily pregnant Nora Moses Gyang explained exclusively to our correspondent how she was arrested and the kind of treatment she received while in military custody at the Maxwell Khobe cantonment.

Barrister Godferry Mathew working on behalf of an NGO however commended the military for the humane treatment given to her while in their custody.

Recall that the army raided a community where the car belonging to a missing retired senior military officer, Major General Idris Alkali was found inside an abandoned mining pond.
